We invest in and empower our people to stand up for what we believe in and go fearlessly forward together.We work on real cases, achieving important and positive results in real people's lives, which is why we are one of Australia's most respected law firms.Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on.About the role and teamWe are looking for a Paralegal to join our Medical Negligence team based in our Sydney office on a part-time basis (3 days per week) for a 6-month fixed term contract.Our Medical Negligence team are recognised leaders in the field, acting in high profile, catastrophic, complex and sensitive matters.
Many members of the team have been recognised externally for their expertise, creating exceptional opportunities for learning, mentoring and professional development.The team has successfully represented hundreds of patients and their families, securing favourable outcomes across all areas of medical negligence, including coronial inquests.
As a Paralegal, you will work closely with experienced lawyers, providing legal and administrative support across a varied and rewarding practice.What you will be responsible for:Providing legal and administrative support to lawyers across a busy medical negligence practiceDrafting legal correspondence and court documentsLiaising with clients, medical providers,



experts and other stakeholdersAssisting with file management from inception through to resolutionConducting legal research and preparing briefs and supporting documentationReviewing and organising medical records and other evidentiary materialSupporting the team with court and coronial inquest preparation where requiredThese responsibilities align with the broader Paralegal position description, including supporting lawyers with file management, drafting documentation, maintaining client relationships and assisting with litigation processes.The experience we are looking for:Previous Paralegal experience, ideally within litigation or personal injuryA genuine interest in medical negligence and complex litigationExcellent organisational skills with strong attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a high-performing teamA compassionate, client-focused approach and the ability to communicate with empathyProficiency in Microsoft Office and strong digital literacyThe successful candidate will be eager to learn, build their technical skills and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.Ongoing coaching and career development opportunitiesEnd of Year leave,
