Work towards obtaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical TechnologyLearn to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of heavy vehicles and mobile plant equipmentComplete on-the-job learning with qualified tradespeopleUndertake formal technical training and assessmentsAttend TAFE and external training coursesWork across different Western Power locations as required for training or rotationsPerform physical, hands-on work outdoors in varying weather conditionsTravel to different work locations and remote locationsFollow strict safety proceduresParticipate in potential overtime or emergency response work
Requirements
Must be 16 years or older to apply
Cert II in Engineering Foundations or Electrotechnology is highly desirable prior to applying
C class driver's licence
Minimum of Year 10 secondary education with English and Mathematics skills
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment
Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
Willingness to obtain a range of high-risk licences
Willingness to work shifts consisting of a 75-hour fortnight
Willingness to work and travel in remote locations, including travel to TAFE and external training courses
Ability to interpret complex instructions, designs and diagrams




Ability to operate large equipment such as elevated work platforms and hydraulic drills
Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Strict adherence to safety procedures
Potential overtime or emergency response work
