Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for accounting, reporting and lease finance activities across Qantas' overseas property leasing portfolio.This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to further develop their technical accounting capability in a specialised area of Finance while gaining exposure to a large and complex corporate environment.
You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, supporting month-end reporting, lease accounting, reconciliations and process improvement initiatives.You willManage accounting activities for the overseas property leasing portfolioPrepare month-end journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliationsSupport lease accounting requirements in accordance with AASB 16Assist with half-year and year-end financial reporting activitiesPerform lease calculations, remeasurements and accounting assessmentsPartner with stakeholders to support reporting requirements and finance-related queriesContribute to forecasting, budgeting and analytical activities as requiredIdentify and implement process improvement opportunitiesSupport broader finance initiatives and projects across the teamYou'll haveDegree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineCA/CPA qualification or progress towards completion2-5 years' accounting or finance experienceStrong accounting fundamentals and financial reporting knowledgeExperience performing month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliationsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailThe ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilitiesEffective communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to stakeholdersExposure to AASB 16 lease accounting desirableProperty or lease accounting experience desirableYou'll join a team where curiosity, collaboration and continuous learning are encouraged.
