A role that matters.We're looking for a casual Regional Liaison Officer to support workers participating in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme across the Werribee area.This isn't your typical desk job.
It's a hands-on community role where you'll help people who have travelled to Australia for work feel safe, supported and connected while they're away from home.One day that might mean helping someone get to a medical appointment.
Another could involve checking in on a worker's wellbeing, helping resolve an accommodation concern, connecting someone with their community or simply being a trusted person they know they can call when they need support.What you'll be doingYou'll provide practical, pastoral and wellbeing support to PALM Scheme workers, including:Building robust and trusted relationships with workersProviding regular face-to-face check-ins and wellbeing supportAssisting with appointments, transport and community connectionsHelping workers navigate accommodation, workplace and personal mattersProviding advocacy and connecting workers with appropriate servicesLiaising with employers,



community services and the broader MADEC teamIdentifying and escalating wellbeing or safety concernsSupporting workplace safety requirements and toolbox meetingsProviding occasional after-hours or time-sensitive assistance when requiredWho could this role suit?
This could be a great fit if you have experience in community services, disability, aged care, healthcare, education, employment services or multicultural support.
But we're equally interested in people who simply have the right qualities: empathetic, resourceful, culturally aware and comfortable being the person others turn to for help.You'll ideally have:Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communitiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong knowledge of Werribee and the surrounding communityA practical, calm and solutions-focused approachThe confidence to work independently and exercise good judgementProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and emailA current driver's licence and willingness to travel locallyThe important bit: this is casualBecause this role can involve responding to unexpected or time-sensitive worker needs, we're particularly looking for people who are genuinely local to the Werribee area and able to provide face-to-face support when required.
