About the RoleThe Waiting List Officer is accountable for the management of patients on the Planned Surgery Waiting List from a clerical perspective within the guidelines of the Department of Health Planned Surgery Access Policy.They provide effective administrative support within the team and work closely with the Surgical Liaison Nurses to ensure patients are safely prepared for their elective and endoscopic procedure.Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms and other areas of St Vincent's within stipulated time frame as per DHHS Elective Surgery Access PolicyAccurately create, record and update the Waiting List Screen on Patient Administration System (PAS) as requiredContact patients and schedule admission for proceduresSchedule any appointments, that may include preadmission clinic, anaesthetic clinic, perioperative medicine unit (PMU) clinic and any associated investigations as requested by the SLN or unitClassifications for this position will range from HS1 - HS17 ($60,780 - $72,677 per annum)Your ContributionRelevant experience in administration in a healthcare roleExperience with patient administration systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and ExcelCurrent National criminal history check, or willing to obtainWhat We OfferA focus on wellbeing initiatives, with regular events and programsConfidential, solutions-focused employee counsellingA healthy work/life balance encouraged.
