Chef SOURDOUGH SOCIETY PTY LTD Redland Bay, QLD, AUSourdough Society Pty Ltd, trading as Redland Bay Bakery, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef for a genuine, ongoing full-time position.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Chef will prepare and cook high-quality food, contribute to menu development and support the efficient operation of the bakery's commercial kitchen.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPlan menus in consultation with management and kitchen staffEstimate food, ingredient and labour requirementsOrder ingredients and monitor inventoryPrepare, season and cook menu items according to established recipesMonitor food quality during preparation, cooking and presentationMaintain consistent portion sizes and presentation standardsDevelop seasonal dishes and contribute to menu improvementsManage dietary requirements and allergen controlsEnforce food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety proceduresMaintain a clean,



organised and compliant kitchenMinimise food waste and support effective cost controlTrain and supervise junior kitchen employees when requiredCoordinate kitchen operations during busy service periodsQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCECertificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management or an equivalent relevant qualificationAt least one year of relevant commercial kitchen experienceDemonstrated experience in cooking, food preparation and menu planningSound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen managementExperience with stock management, portion control and waste reductionStrong communication, organisation and teamwork skillsAbility to work effectively in a rapid-paced commercial kitchenAvailability for early mornings, weekends and public holidays as rosteredDESIRABLE EXPERIENCEExperience preparing breakfast, lunch, pastry or bakery-related menu itemsExperience training or supervising junior kitchen employees
