They are looking for an experienced Residential Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis.This is a hands-on role with approximately 80% estimating and 20% contracts administration, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of the estimating process while supporting projects through to delivery.About the RoleAs the Residential Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates across a range of residential construction projects.
Working from architectural plans, drawings and specifications, you will assess project requirements, price materials and labour, and prepare detailed quotations.You will also provide support across the contracts administration function, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are well organised and materials and trades are coordinated effectively.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed estimates and quotations for residential extensions, renovations and construction projectsReview architectural plans, drawings and specifications to accurately identify project requirementsComplete material take-offs and accurately price materials, labour and subcontractor costsObtain and compare supplier and subcontractor pricingEnter and maintain project costs within estimating and construction softwareMonitor budgets and identify potential cost variationsPrepare quote proposals for clientsAssist with the handover of successful projects to the delivery teamSupport contracts administration across approximately ***** residential projectsOrder materials and issue work orders to trades and suppliersWork closely with the Project Manager to coordinate project requirementsManage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracyAbout YouWe are looking for a residential construction estimator who understands how homes are built and has a solid eye for detail and costs.You will ideally have:Previous estimating experience within residential constructionStrong experience pricing extensions, renovations and bespoke residential projectsThe ability to confidently read and interpret architectural plans and construction drawingsStrong knowledge of residential building materials, trades and construction processesExperience completing take-offs and preparing detailed project estimatesStrong attention to detail and commercial awarenessThe ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyGood communication skills and the confidence to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teamsExperience with estimating, quoting or construction management softwarePrevious contracts administration or project coordination experience will be highly regardedQualificationsQualification in Construction, Building, Estimating, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is desirableRelevant residential construction experience will be considered in place of formal qualificationsWhat's on OfferScope to negotiate a higher salary for the right candidatePermanent, full time positionWork within an established residential construction businessA genuine opportunity to take ownership of the estimating functionA varied role combining estimating and contracts administrationReference number: *******Profession:ConstructionEstimatingCompany: Frontline RecruitmentDate posted: 2nd Sep, ****
