Every role at the AFL helps progress the game, so more people can love it, connect with it and see what is possible through it.The opportunityFor many children, their first experience of our game comes through AFL Auskick, Superkick, junior football and school programs.As Participation Coordinator – Gold Coast North, you will play a vital role in creating positive first experiences that inspire young people to get involved, stay involved and develop a lifelong connection with football.Please note that this role is a Maximum Term position until May ****.Working across schools, community clubs and local football environments, you will help grow participation through the professional delivery of key AFL programs.
You will support participants, volunteers, teachers and clubs while helping create safe, inclusive and enjoyable experiences that strengthen football communities across the Gold Coast North region.What you'll ownYou will be at the heart of delivering participation programs that engage children, young people and communities while supporting the continued growth of football in the region.You'll add value through:Delivering AFL participation programs across schools, before and after-school settings and community club environmentsCreating safe, inclusive and engaging experiences that encourage participation and enjoyment for children of all ages and abilitiesDelivering high-quality school football competitions and programsSupporting transition and retention initiatives that connect participants from AFL Auskick, Superkick and school programs into junior club footballBuilding strong relationships with teachers, volunteers,



schools and community stakeholdersCoordinating AFL player appearances and fan engagement activitiesSupporting junior clubs and AFL Auskick and Superkick centres with recruitment, volunteer support, coaching and promotional initiativesDelivering promotional activities and community activations to help achieve participation targetsContributing to regional participation plans and local delivery strategiesAssisting with key projects that support football growth and community engagement outcomesMaintaining a strong customer focus across all programs and interactionsCollaborating with the broader team to achieve shared objectives and deliver exceptional experiencesWhat you'll bringExperience working with children and young people in program delivery, sport, education or community settingsStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to diverse groupsWell-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholdersStrong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing prioritiesDemonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently while delivering high-quality outcomesProven customer service skills and the ability to positively influence and engage stakeholdersExperience delivering practical activities, programs or learning experiences for children and young peopleA commitment to creating safe, inclusive and welcoming environments for participants from diverse communitiesSound judgement, reliability and a collaborative approach to teamworkWillingness to work outside standard business hours when required,
