This is a rare chance for an AML/CTF specialist to take on genuine ownership of a licensed wagering operator's financial crimes compliance framework, while leading a high‐performing team through a period of significant regulatory reform.About the RoleThe role is accountable for the AML/CTF Program including continuous improvement thereof, risk assessment and controls environment in line with the AML/CTF Act, AML/CTF Rules and AUSTRAC guidance.
The position has responsibility for providing oversight and governance of PointsBet Australia's AML/CTF compliance framework, with the AML/CTF Compliance Officer (AMLCO).
Beyond AML/CTF, you'll also carry overall leadership responsibility for Payments & Fraud function, ensuring these functions operate as an integrated, cohesive part of the customer protection framework - and you'll drive alignment of AML/CTF methodology and standards between PointsBet Australia and PointsBet Canada.What You'll OwnAML/CTF Program Oversight – the AML/CTF Program and risk assessment, transaction monitoring,



and supporting policies and documents; AUSTRAC and other reporting obligations; customer KYC, due diligence, screening and source of funds/wealth methodologiesRegulatory Engagement – In conjunction with the Legal team, regulator relationships on financial crimes mattersCompliance Framework & Governance – the compliance governance calendar, monitoring and testing program, escalation point for high-risk or novel compliance matters, Board and Committee papers on AML/CTF risksPayments & Fraud – integration of payments and fraud controls with the AML/CTF framework, and uplift of fraud detection through data, automation and AI-enabled toolingAU–Canada Synergies – alignment (where possible) of AML/CTF methodology, risk appetite and control standards / processes across jurisdictionsPeople Leadership – coaching and developing of the AML/CTF, Payments and Fraud leaders and teamsWhat You'll BringStrong working knowledge of the AML/CTF Act, AML/CTF Rules (including the post-reform baseline) and AUSTRAC guidanceAMLCO experience is highly regarded, as is a proven ability to work with Executive managers and legal teamsCAMS or an equivalent AML/CTF professional qualification viewed favourablyPrevious Senior leadership experience in financial crimes compliance, customer protection and/or payments & fraud in a regulated environment such as wagering, gambling or financial services preferred.




Additional Operational leadership experience is highly regardedWorking knowledge of payments and fraud risk managementExperience operating across multiple jurisdictions or entities, balancing group consistency with local regulatory nuance will be an advantageStrong stakeholder management skills, including Board, regulator and executive engagementProven people leadership and sound commercial judgement - able to balance regulatory rigor with pragmatic, growth-supportive outcomesThe PB Perks!
