Enjoy a career that makes a difference by helping to shape the education experience for Victoria.About the DivisionThe Security and Emergency Management Division's purpose is to lead security and emergency management functions for the Department and lead and support educational communities to be physically and psychologically safe through the provision of expert advice and support services.About the UnitThe Security Unit operates the department's 24/7 Incident Support and Operations Centre responding to alarm and CCTV activations in schools and actioning work orders for the installation and maintenance of the alarm system.About the role5 Casual positions available.
Working as part of a team in a 24/7 shift work environment, the Incident Response Officer monitors security for over **** schools across Victoria.
You will be responsible for making a real impact to continuity of learning and safety by monitoring alarms, responding to incidents, raising work orders and other response services to minimise the loss or damage of school equipment and infrastructure.Key DutiesInterpret alarm activations and exercise judgement in dispatching security service providers and/or policeActively contribute to a positive team setting and cultureCoach, mentor and train more junior incident response officersOversee more complex security related issuesLiaise with security service providers and school leaders regarding alarm activations and other security and safety incidents.Liaise and provide support with alarm system technicians working on sitesLiaise with other emergency services in relation to emergencies at schoolsPreparing and disseminating Incident ReportsHave additional responsibility in portfolios within the Unit,
