About the roleReporting to the Surface Mine Manager, you will lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of drill and blast activities at Carmichael Coal Mine.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, contractor management, blast quality, cost control and continuous improvement across the drill and blast function.Working closely with Mining Operations, Technical Services and contractor drill and blast services teams, you will ensure drilling and blasting activities are executed safely, on schedule and in alignment with the mine plan, while building a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, collaboration and excellence.The role is also responsible for managing enabling activities such as drill area preparation, road works, delineation, ancillary equipment and clearing activities.This position is based at the Carmichael Mine, Central Queensland's Galilee Basin, providing a balanced lifestyle witheight days on and six days off (8 / 6 roster).
The ideal candidate would FIFO out of Townsville, Rockhampton or Mackay (a flight time of 55 minutes).
