We're looking for a motivated Trainee to join our Rutherford facility, where you'll receive full training, work alongside experienced professionals, and build a long-term career in a highly specialised manufacturing setting.

The Opportunity:
This is an entry-level Trainee Sewer/Upholsterer role focused on learning fabrication and sewing techniques used to produce industrial thermal blankets.
You'll gain practical skills with tools, materials, and machinery while contributing to the production of high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
Learn to fabricate thermal insulation blankets from drawings and templatesCut, measure,



and prepare materials accurately using appropriate toolsOperate industrial sewing machines under supervision and trainingAssemble and sew components using correct stitching techniquesHandle fabrics, insulation fibres, and fastening components efficientlyFollow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspaceWork collaboratively with team members to meet production targetsInspect finished products to ensure quality standards are achieved
Requirements:
Strong willingness to learn hands‐on fabrication and sewing skillsAbility to follow instructions, plans, and basic drawingsGood attention to detail and pride in workmanshipPhysical capability to perform manual tasks and stand for extended periodsStrong commitment to workplace safety and proceduresReliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment
Preferred Experience (Not Essential – Training Provided)
Exposure to sewing, upholstery, or fabrication environmentsExperience using hand tools or machineryPrevious work in manufacturing, trades, or workshop environmentsBasic understanding of measurements, materials, or pattern cutting
