On the back of strong growth, they're looking to bring on an experienced Financial Controller / CFO to step into a senior finance leadership role — someone who can partner directly with ownership, drive commercial decision-making, and help take the business to its next stage of growth.
This is a genuine opportunity for someone with experience gained in a larger, more structured business to bring that calibre of financial rigour and strategic thinking into a growing, owner-led environment.The Business StructureYou'll dual-manage finance across two related entities:The core business —Residential constructionA smaller, standalone supply business, operating independently and manufacturing/supplying product to other businessesKey ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of day-to-day financial operations and reporting across both entitiesSupport and work alongside the in-office team member managing Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableDrive financial strategy,



commercial decision-making and business planning as the business scalesOversee financial management of residential project work within the core businessManage the relationship with the business's external accountant, who will remain engaged for tax, BAS and quarterly strategic reviewsImplement financial processes, systems and controls to support continued growthProvide commercial and financial insight directly to ownership to support key decisionsAbout YouProven experience as a Financial Controller, CFO, or senior finance leader — ideally including time in a larger, more structured business before moving into an SME/owner-operated environmentComfortable managing finances across multiple related entities/business units simultaneouslyStrong commercial acumen — able to go beyond reporting and actively help drive the business forwardExperience working collaboratively alongside external accountants/advisorsBuilding/construction or manufacturing industry experience highly regardedA genuine "next level" operator — someone who can bring structure, process and strategic thinking to a growing businessWhat's on OfferA genuine leadership role, working directly with ownership to shape the financial direction of the businessInner west Melbourne locationThe chance to make a real, visible impact as the business scales
