We have a growing presence in cyber, space and nuclear programs.Tell me about this role:Amentum are seeking experienced Systems Engineering, Capability Development, Logistics, Facilities and Defence Acquisition professionals to support Defence Project AIR **** Future Lead-In Fighter System (FLIFS).
AIR **** will deliver a Future Lead-In Fighter System inclusive of aircraft, simulators, facilities, ground support equipment, training materials and contracted services, replacing the current Introductory Fighter Course capability and preparing future combat aircrew for conversion onto front-line fighter aircraft.We are seeking multiple specialist positions supporting the Air Warfare Systems Program Office (AWSPO) and Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ).
Successful candidates will work closely with Defence stakeholders, subject matter experts and industry partners to develop capability requirements, systems engineering artefacts and acquisition documentation that will inform a future strategic capability for the Australian Defence Force.These opportunities may be based in RAAF Base Williamtown (preferred) or Russell Offices, Canberra, depending on role requirements and candidate suitability.What will I be doing day to day?
Depending on your area of expertise, responsibilities may include:Developing high-quality capability documentation, Function and Performance Specifications (FPS), Capability Development Documents (CDD) and supporting artefactsSupporting the development of logistics, software, maintenance,



systems engineering and facilities requirementsManaging and maintaining systems engineering databases and associated project informationDrafting ASDEFCON Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and acquisition documentationEngaging with Defence stakeholders, operators, delivery agencies and industry partnersParticipating in commercial activities including tender evaluations and vendor reviewsSupporting committees, boards and governance processes through written and verbal reportingIdentifying, assessing and mitigating capability risks across complex project activitiesApplying Defence strategic guidance, policy and acquisition frameworks to capability development activitiesCollaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver project outcomesMonitoring and reporting project progress against key capability milestonesSupporting the development of facilities, logistics, software, maintenance and training solutions for the future capabilityWho we're looking for:We are interested in speaking with professionals who bring experience in one or more of the following disciplines:Systems EngineeringRequirements DevelopmentLogistics Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)Capability DevelopmentDefence Acquisition and CASG environmentsFacilities Planning and Infrastructure DeliverySoftware Engineering or Software Requirements DevelopmentMaintenance EngineeringAerospace or Aviation Acquisition ProgramsYou are a strong communicator who can engage confidently with a broad range of stakeholders, develop high-quality documentation and apply analytical thinking to complex capability challenges.
