A outstanding career chance has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the national Finance team for this well known Legal Firm in their stunning CBD Melbourne office. Working closely with the Finance Manager and CFO, you will play an important role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting the broader Finance team across a range of functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to develop their skills and take on greater responsibility within a collaborative and professional environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
Preparing accurate and timely monthly management reports
Calculating Partner bonuses
Completing balance sheet reconciliations
Preparing bank covenant reporting
Completing monthly BAS and annual FBT returns
Managing quarterly ABS reporting and Payment Times reporting
Preparing ad-hoc reports for management and Partners
Assisting with the month-end process
Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
Developing an understanding of Accounts Payable,



Accounts Receivable and Trust Accounting to provide back-up and assistance when required

About You: We’re looking for an accounting professional who is CA or CPA qualified or currently working towards with experience within the legal or professional services industry.

You’ll bring
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
A solid understanding of accounting principles and their practical application as well as experience completing BAS returns and an understanding of FBT principles
Solid knowledge of systems and processes including Excel
The ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines
Strong planning and organisational skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A collaborative approach and commitment to team success
