Biochemist – AI Data Trainer
About The Role
Your deep expertise in biochemistry is exactly what the next generation of AI needs. We're partnering with leading AI research labs to build smarter, more scientifically rigorous AI models — and we need PhD-level biochemists to make it happen.
This is a fully remote, versatile contract role where your knowledge of protein folding, metabolic flux, enzyme kinetics, and molecular genetics directly shapes how AI reasons about life science. No AI background required — your scientific expertise is what matters.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Design Advanced Problems: Craft challenging, domain-specific biochemistry problems spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance.
Create Gold-Standard Solutions: Write exact, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems.
Audit AI Outputs: Review AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, scientific validity, and safety.
Improve AI Reasoning: Identify flaws in AI logic — such as incorrect stoichiometry, misapplied stereochemistry,
or faulty enzyme kinetics — and provide structured feedback that improves model performance.
Who You Are
Hold a PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
Have solid foundational expertise in areas such as structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics
Can communicate complex biological and chemical concepts clearly and precisely in written form
Bring a high level of attention to detail when evaluating chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
No prior AI experience required — we'll get you up to speed
Nice to Have
Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
