The Brisbane brewers brought innovative ideas, award-winning beers, and a bold aesthetic when they launched in ****.If you'd like to lead the team making their evolving lineup of beers, they're looking to fill their head brewer position for 12 months while one of their brewers is on maternity leave.JOBDESCRIPTION:HEADBREWER12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Leave Cover) - Starting November ****The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and capable Head Brewer to take ownership of our Newstead brewery operation.
You will manage the brew team day-to-day and be accountable for the quality, consistency and efficiency of everything we produce, working closely with the Directors.This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract covering a period of maternity leave, starting November ****, reporting directly to the Directors.
This role doesn't come up often, it is the right chance for someone with reliable brewing experience who is ready to lead a team, own a process, and contribute to a brewery they are proud to work in.What You Will Be Responsible For1.
Managing and leading the brew team day-to-day, including performance management and employee relations2.
Optimising staffing levels, shift configurations and brewing overtime3.
Overseeing the full brewing process from milling through to packaging4.
Assisting with the managing raw materials, stock ordering and production planning - controlling usage, increasing yield and reducing extract loss5.
Maintaining and improving product quality and flavour stability through QA/QCprocesses6.
Managing yeast handling in line with industry best practices - pitching, cropping and monitoring7.
Facilitating team problem solving and sound decision making across the brew team8.




Applying and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures across all production and packaging activities9.
Ensuring proper CIP procedures are followed and the brewery is kept clean, safe and organised10.
Assisting with Managing brewery maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and repair11.
Optimising utilities usage and managing brewery waste responsibly12.
