An integral member of our senior leadership team, as the Assistant Director of Nursing - Interventional, you will provide strategic,
operational
and professional nursing leadership across a diverse portfolio of procedural, emergency, critical
care
and inpatient services.

Your part in our St Andrews War Memorial Hospital team
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will provide leadership across a significant clinical portfolio including
Cardiac Catheter Theatres, Day Surgery Centre, Endoscopy, Day Infusion Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department and Cardiology Ward
.
You'll
work closely with clinical,
medical
and operational leaders to deliver safe, high-quality patient care while driving service excellence,
innovation
and continuous improvement.
A diverse role, you will:
Provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio of interventional, critical care and acute services.
Lead service planning, workforce capability and operational performance initiatives aligned to hospital strategy.
Drive excellence in clinical governance, quality,
safety
and accreditation outcomes.
Support patient access,
flow
and operational efficiency across procedural and inpatient services.
Lead and develop high-performing clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
Partner with clinical and medical stakeholders to
identify
opportunities for service growth,
innovation
and enhancement.
Contribute to
financial management
, budget
oversight
and resource optimisation.
Champion digital health initiatives, data-driven
decision-making
and continuous improvement programs.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability,
learning
and patient-centred care




What makes a difference for us?
As an experienced senior nursing leader,
you'll
bring strong operational
expertise
, strategic
thinking
and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
To be successful, you will ideally bring:
Substantial post-registration nursing experience, including senior nursing leadership experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience within interventional, cardiac, critical care, emergency, perioperative or comparable acute hospital services.
Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, regulatory
requirements
and professional standards.
Experience leading organisational change, service
improvement
and strategic initiatives.
Demonstrated success in workforce planning, performance leadership and developing high-performing teams.
Experience managing operational and capital budgets and delivering sustainable service outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement,
communication
and influencing skills.
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent and current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to senior nursing leadership.
Highly regarded:
Postgraduate qualifications in Critical Care, Emergency, Perioperative or Cardiac Nursing.
Postgraduate qualifications in Leadership, Management, Business or Health Services Management.
Experience in cardiac accreditation, interventional services,
emergency
or ICU operations.
Experience delivering service redesign,
innovation
or hospital-wide improvement initiatives.
Experience working within a large, complex healthcare workplace.
Experience within the not-for-profit health sector
