Overview
Tilt Renewables is seeking a motivated student of Engineering or Science to join our Wind Engineering team on a casual basis as an intern.
The successful candidate will assist the team with hands on support across development‐stage wind projects, with particular focus on wind monitoring data checking, analysis, and project management of maintenance and install activities with Tilt Renewables' wind monitoring contractors.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector, work alongside experienced professionals, and build valuable industry connections.
This role reports to the Wind Engineering Discipline Lead and will support the wider Engineering team in the Development function, as required, on a casual basis.
Duration & Commitment
Initial duration: 12 months
Start date: Nominally November ****
Time commitment: casual basis, 2 days per week or equivalent hours
The duration may be extended beyond the initial duration by mutual agreement.
Location & Working Model
Melbourne‐based, attending the Tilt Renewables Melbourne office minimum 2 days per week, with the balance being hybrid/remote work subject to manager approval
Tilt will:
provide a laptop and system access
require completion of Tilt induction and online training
cover travel and accommodation costs associated with any site travel that may be required
provide on the job training and experience
Role & Responsibilities
The intern will operate under the direction and supervision of the Wind Engineering team and will support wind monitoring activities for development‐stage wind projects, including:
daily wind monitoring device data checks and fault identification
from time to time,



assisting with the project management of contractors or consultants related to the maintenance of wind monitoring devices and activities
coordination across Tilt Renewables teams such as engineering, development, land, and health and safety to achieve best outcomes for projects across scope, safety, and stakeholder objectives
GIS mapping and management of monitoring locations and associated project information
support continuous improvement of Tilt's wind data management systems, processes and procedures
participating in activities and events that foster professional networks in the renewable energy community.
other ad-hoc and highly collaborative engineering tasks as required
Required Experience & Attributes
Currently undertaking a degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems) or Science (Physics, Environmental Science, or engineering pathways [Melbourne Model])
At least 3 years of study completed prior to the start date
Interest working in the renewable energy sector
An affinity for data analysis and problem solving
Attention to detail and commitment to data quality
GIS skills are desirable but not essential, as training will be provided on the job.
Highly collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills
