The Union Dairy Company has an annual processing capacity of 300 million liters of raw milk and began production in ****. Located in Penola, South Australia - the purpose-built plant provides a state-of-the-art factory and is the newest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
n
We are currently seeking a suitably experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in Penola, SA
n
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
n
n
Supervise daily production operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are achieved
n
Lead, coach, and support production employees while fostering a positive team culture and ensuring adequate staffing across all production processes
n
Monitor production performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, minimise downtime, and reduce waste
n
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), food safety, quality standards, GMP, and company policies and procedures
n
Monitor milk solids retention, production losses,



and product yields while identifying opportunities to improve process efficiency and minimise waste
n
Coordinate production schedules and work collaboratively with maintenance and other departments to maximise plant reliability and operational performance
n
Support continuous improvement initiatives through problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
n
Maintain accurate production records, inventory, and shift handover documentation to support efficient production operations
n

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
n
n
Relevant qualification in Manufacturing, Food Processing, Engineering, or a related discipline (desirable)
n
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Production Supervisor or similar leadership role within a manufacturing or food processing environment
n
Solid leadership, communication, and team management skills with the ability to lead by example
n
Sound knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), food safety, quality systems, and production processes
n
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
n
Ability to work independently, build effective working relationships, and maintain a high level of attention to detail
n
n
Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000 AUD
n
