About the Centre
n
The Horsham Aquatic Centre opened its doors the 20th October **** and has been managed by the YMCA on behalf of the Horsham Rural City Council ever since. We boast over 50 group exercise classes a week, a fully equipped gym which is now 24/7, three swimming pools, crèche, swimming lessons, personal training and a café.

About the Role
n
As a Lifeguard, you'll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors. You'll be patient, focused and friendly to keep pool-users informed and safe. Duties of the role include:
n
n
Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area
n
Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
n
Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practices
n
Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment
n
n
This is a casual position and the hourly rate up to $***** + Super.
n
About You
n
We are seeking motivated, organised and pro-active Lifeguards to come and join the team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children,



young people and all facility users. Other required qualities are:
n
n
Ability to make decisions while under pressure
n
Being able to manage conflicts with patrons and users
n
Ability to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environment
n
Ability to multitask
n
Providing excellent customer service for all members and guests
n
Experience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regarded
n
n
Essential Qualifications
n
n
Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
n
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
n
HLTAID011 Provide First AID
n
n
