Our Opportunity
Location: Solomon - Fortescue's Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 7D/7N/14R - FIFO ex Perth
As a Heavy-Duty Fitter within the Shutdown Team, you will support the protected and efficient execution of planned maintenance activities across diggers, drills and associated heavy mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Complete shutdown maintenance on diggers, drills and heavy mobile equipment
Carry out inspections, repairs and component replacements
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
Work to shutdown schedules and maintenance plans
Complete tasks safely, efficiently and to a high standard
Support breakdowns and additional maintenance activities as required
Maintain accurate work records and communicate job progress
Follow Fortescue safety, environmental and operational procedures
Qualifications And Experience
Australian-recognised trade certificate as a Heavy-Duty Fitter, Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Equipment
Experience maintaining diggers, drills or similar heavy mobile equipment
Previous mining or heavy industry experience




Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
Shutdown maintenance experience is highly regarded
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced team environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Current Australian working rights and relevant site qualifications
