About the Role
Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a
Band 5 Mortuary Technician
in Ipswich.
This full-time locum position offers the opportunity to work across multiple sites within a stimulating and varied environment.
You will play a vital role in supporting mortuary and post-mortem services while working with professionalism, compassion and attention to detail.

What You Will Do
Handle deceased individuals safely, respectfully and professionally, ensuring all procedures comply with established protocols.
Communicate sensitively and effectively with bereaved and distressed families, providing appropriate support and information during difficult circumstances.
Utilise your experience in post-mortem procedures,



including
forensic post-mortem examinations
, to undertake thorough examinations and maintain accurate documentation.
Apply knowledge of a range of post-mortem dissection techniques to carry out examinations safely, accurately and efficiently.
Maintain high standards of professionalism, dignity and confidentiality throughout all aspects of your work.
Comply fully with Health & Safety regulations and established workplace procedures.
Identify and manage risks associated with infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals and gases.
Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology
or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum of
2 years' post-qualification experience
.
Proven experience of post-mortem work.
Experience of forensic post-mortem examinations.
Knowledge of a range of post-mortem dissection techniques.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a mortuary environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work sensitively with bereaved families.
High levels of professionalism, compassion and attention to detail.
HCPC registration
is desirable.
A
full driving licence and access to a car
would be advantageous due to the multi-site nature of the role.
