This is a permanent full-time position commencing in November ****
Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most.
It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery.
While it primarily exists to support schools, it also has an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development.
Service Delivery is the key interface with schools.
Its purpose is to plan, coordinate and deliver targeted services that support schools and regions to improve student achievement.
The Role
The Principal Education Officer provides professional leadership and coordinated support to regions and schools in relation to school performance, student achievement and educational outcomes.
They research, plan, implement and evaluate specialist teaching and learning services and support in response to the needs of public schools.
The successful candidate will facilitate opportunities for teachers to access practical support, information, professional learning and resources to assist with the improvement of student achievement in relation to locally identified needs.
Within this role they will engage in research and systemic analysis of school performance to identify areas for improvement and to inform the coordination and targeting of services and support.

Eligibility
be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
