We are seeking an experienced
Logistics Manager
to oversee inventory management, distribution centre operations and international logistics activities, ensuring our exceptional products are delivered securely, accurately and efficiently across the business.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
The Logistics Manager leads the logistics function, ensuring inventory is managed accurately, securely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with company policies, customs regulations and security requirements.
Logistics & Distribution Centre (DC) Operations
Lead all logistics operations including receiving, storage, stock movements, picking, packing and dispatch.
Ensure timely replenishment of inventory to boutiques and other business locations to support reliable, on-time supply.
Manage workload prioritisation and resource allocation across the logistics team.
Maintain operational procedures and controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency and cost control.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service, productivity and quality.
Inventory Governance & Compliance
Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy across all locations.
Ensure all stock transactions and inventory movements are accurately recorded.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and inventory variances.
Lead stocktake activities and inventory audits.
Implement controls that minimise stock loss and inventory risk.
Ensure appropriate security controls are maintained for the handling, storage and transportation of high-value inventory.
International Logistics & Trade Management
Manage all import and export activities, including customs clearance and export declarations.
Coordinate and oversee all import and export activities with suppliers, customs brokers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations & legislation, trade requirements and company policies and procedures.
Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight providers and security carriers.
Oversee carnet administration, certificates of origin and shipping documentation.
Monitor freight expenditure and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
Maintain confidentiality regarding all information encountered, including personal data protection.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, coach and develop the logistics team.
Establish explicit accountability and performance expectations.
Develop capability through cross-training and succession planning.
Conduct regular performance and development discussions.
Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Build strong relationships with boutiques, Merchandise Planning, Product Development, Finance and external service providers.
Manage relationships and service agreements with suppliers, couriers, transport providers and insurance partners.
Negotiate service contracts and supervise the activity and service level provided by Australian customs brokers.
Proactively resolve operational issues and risks.
Planning, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Provide logistics insights and performance reporting to leadership.
Develop and manage monthly forecasts for logistics activity.
Manage logistics expenditure and ensure performance remains within budget.
Monitor activity through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with business needs.
Propose initiatives to improve logistics efficiency, service levels and operational performance.
Prepare for approval and update working instructions and operational procedures as required.
Support ongoing optimisation of ERP and logistics systems.
Develop and maintain logistics reporting and dashboards.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Standardise procedures and controls across logistics operations.
About You
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics, supply chain or distribution operations.
Proven experience leading and developing operational teams.
Solid inventory management, stock control and inventory governance expertise.
Experience managing international freight, import/export activities and customs compliance.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with freight providers, customs brokers and key stakeholders.
Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills.
Excellent planning, prioritisation and communication capabilities.
A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Highly regarded
Experience within luxury retail, jewellery, fashion or other high-value inventory environments.
Experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Knowledge of customs legislation and international trade compliance.
