Job Advert Summary
Hytec SA is looking for a Driver/Storeman to join their team in Newcastle.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that correct goods are received and delivered, you will also pack stock for customer orders and maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the stores.
Valid Code EC driver's licence with a PDP (Mandatory).
2 - 5 years delivery experience.
Warehouse or store experience advantageous
Good timekeeping and dedication to the team.
Good communication and people skills.
Willing to work overtime.
Medically fit.
Duties and Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery Execution
Ensure protected and timely delivery and collection of goods.
Follow planned routes and delivery schedules.
Obtain proof of delivery and customer signatures.
Ensure correct goods are delivered.
Communicate delivery status and delays promptly.
Vehicle Management & Compliance
Conduct daily vehicle inspections before each shift.
Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and maintained to a clean standard.
Report defects and maintenance needs to the relevant supervisor / manager




Comply with traffic legislation and company vehicle policy.
Maintain valid licenses, PDP and all required documentation.
Loading, Offloading & Handling
Load and offload goods safely using correct handling techniques.
Secure loads appropriately to prevent damage in transit.
Verify quantities and condition of goods upon receipt and delivery.
Handle hydraulics components with care to prevent damage or injury.
Assist with material movement within branch.
Warehouse / Storeman Support
Assist with receiving, binning and storage of stock of incoming stock.
Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
Support cycle counts, stocktaking, and inventory reconciliation.
Assist workshops and operational teams with materials and logistics.
Maintain organized and accurate stock locations.
Documentation & Control
Complete delivery notes, trip sheets and all required paperwork accurately.
Maintain logbooks and vehicle usage records.
Report discrepancies, shortages or damages with supporting documentation.
Ensure accurate capturing of all stock movements.
Submit documentation to the relevant department timeously.
Safety, Housekeeping & Conduct
Always follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized work and vehicle environment.
Report hazards, near misses, and incidents to management promptly.
Promote and model safe driving behaviour internally and externally.
Uphold company standards and customer service.
