The Opportunity
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a rapidly growing Melbourne based construction group entering an exciting stage of its development.
Reporting directly to the Directors, the newly created Head of Finance will take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the continued growth and professionalisation of the business.
This role will suit a hands-on finance leader who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment and wants to have a genuine impact on business performance.
The Challenge
As Head of Finance, you will combine strong financial leadership with commercial business partnering, providing the Directors with greater visibility over project performance and the broader business.
The role will include:
Leading the delivery of accurate and timely financial and management reporting
Owning budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning
Managing cash flow, working capital, banking and funding requirements
Providing commercial analysis and insight to the Directors to support strategic decision-making




Driving greater visibility over project profitability, margins, WIP, project costs and cost-to-complete
Strengthening financial controls, reporting processes and overall finance capability
Identifying and implementing improvements across finance systems, processes and automation
Leading and developing the existing finance team
Acting as a key commercial partner to the Directors and broader operational leadership team
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
CA/CPA qualification with a robust technical accounting foundation
Experience operating within construction, property development or another project-based environment essential
Strong commercial finance capability with experience partnering with Owners, executives and operational leaders
Demonstrated experience across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital management
A track record of improving finance systems, processes, reporting and controls
Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to translate financial information into clear commercial insights
A growth mindset and genuine appetite to build a finance function alongside a rapidly scaling business
