Job details Boilermaker / Welder Crane Hoist Fabrication Forrestfield-based workshop $***** per hour + super (base + penalties) Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts About the Client: Our client is a well-established organisation specialising in the fabrication, maintenance and refurbishment of overhead cranes, hoists and associated lifting equipment.
They are currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker/Welder to join their workshop team in Forrestfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified Boilermaker/Welder with structural fabrication and overhead crane experience who is reliable, safety-focused and confident working from engineering drawings.
What You Will Be Doing: Fabricate crane and hoist components by cutting, rolling, pressing and welding steel plate and sections to engineering drawings.
Fabricate and assemble components for overhead bridge cranes, jib cranes, gantries and associated structures.
Assemble fabricated parts into complete crane and hoist units, including structural frames, beams, end carriages and support structures.
Complete MIG, TIG and arc welding on crane structures and associated components.
Carry out structural repairs, modifications and reinforcements to crane frames, runways and jibs.
Assist with breakdown repairs, refurbishment and upgrades of customer cranes brought into the workshop.
Inspect cranes for faults and complete required metalwork, repairs and fabrication to restore equipment to a safe operating condition.
Interpret and work from technical and engineering drawings.
Mark out and prepare materials accurately for fabrication.
Operate fabrication machinery including rollers, presses and saws.
Complete workshop production and documentation requirements in line with quality and safety systems.
Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment and follow all site safety procedures.
What You Will Need: Minimum 3 years' experience in a Boilermaker/Welder or similar fabrication role.
Trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder.
Previous structural fabrication and welding experience.
Experience with overhead crane and/or hoist fabrication and maintenance is highly preferred.
Ability to interpret engineering and technical drawings.
Experience with MIG, TIG and/or arc welding.
WA Driver's Licence.
White Card.
High Risk Licence WP is highly regarded.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
Reliable, physically capable and safety-focused.
