About the Prospect Parkes Shire Council is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person looking to start a career in the heavy vehicle mechanical industry.
As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice you will gain hands on experience in servicing, maintaining and repairing Council's heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.
Working alongside qualified mechanics you will learn to diagnose faults, carry out repairs and follow safe work practices.
The apprenticeship will be completed over four (4) years, combining practical workplace experience with formal training.
Upon successful completion you will gain a nationally recognised qualification and the skills and knowledge to begin your career as a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.

About our Cadet, Apprentice and Trainee (CAT)
Program **** Parkes Shire Council is offering cadetship, apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for highly motivated and enthusiastic people looking to gain on-the-job experience and practical knowledge whilst working towards a nationally accredited qualification through a Registered Training Organisation.
The CAT Program provides you with the opportunity to gain on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced professionals, with all training and study costs paid for by Council.
