Job details Mechanical Fitter Turner Fixed Plant Maintenance Welshpool-based workshop $***** per hour + penalties + super Monday to Friday, 5:00am3:00pm, Optional 2 hours overtime per day with Saturday work available About the Client: WorkPac is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter Turner to join a large-scale manufacturing environment based in Welshpool.
Our client operates a busy production facility requiring an experienced tradesperson to maintain, troubleshoot and repair a range of fixed plant equipment essential to daily operations.
Working as part of an established maintenance team, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance, fault finding, repairs and component replacements to ensure plant and production equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.
This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who has strong fixed plant or industrial maintenance experience, can work independently and is confident making practical decisions to minimise downtime and keep production running efficiently.
What You Will Be Doing: Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant and production equipment.
Diagnose mechanical faults and identify practical repair solutions.
Complete repairs, component replacements and general mechanical maintenance.
Perform workshop-based bench work and mechanical fitting duties.
Repair and maintain air tools, pumps and associated equipment.
Work with basic hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Complete basic fabrication and welding as required.




Inspect machinery and equipment to identify faults, wear and maintenance requirements.
Interpret equipment and technical information to complete maintenance tasks accurately.
Work independently and make sound decisions to minimise equipment downtime.
Assist with general workshop maintenance and production support.
Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and site requirements.
What You Will Need: Mechanical Fitter trade qualification/certificate.
Australian trade qualification is preferred.
Strong fixed plant or industrial maintenance experience.
Previous workshop-based maintenance experience.
Experience with mechanical repairs, fault finding and diagnostics.
Basic welding and fabrication experience.
Experience repairing air tools and pumps.
Basic hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
Precast concrete experience is highly desirable.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
White Card.
Ability to pass a PEM and DAS.
Ability to make independent decisions and work with minimal supervision.
Reliable, physically capable and safety-focused.
Willingness and availability to work most Saturdays.




Successful candidate must be available to complete a medical on the same day as interview if required.
