What you will do
As Support Officer, Victim Registers, you will provide support to victims of crime.
You will combine careful administration with sensitive and respectful communication.
You will:
* respond to sensitive telephone and written enquiries from victims of crime
* prepare clear correspondence and reports and provide information about victim services
* maintain accurate records and databases while protecting confidential information
* complete careful assessments to determine eligibility and identify support needs
* communicate with victims in a respectful and trauma-informed way to reduce further distress
About you
A relevant tertiary qualification or experience in social work, criminal justice or a similar field is highly desirable.
You should have experience supporting people with sensitive and complex needs.
You should also have:
* sound knowledge of the criminal justice and victim service systems
* practical experience providing direct support to people with complex needs
* good understanding of family violence and the services available to victims
* strong computer skills and the ability to manage confidential information accurately
