New Dawn Therapy is a registered NDIS provider championing wellness across the Gold Coast, Tweed, Lismore, Ballina, Brisbane and surrounding regions.
We take a holistic, person-centred approach to behaviour support - helping people living with disability, their families and their support networks build genuine, lasting change.
We're growing our clinical team and looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner who's ready to make a real difference.
About the role
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you'll work directly with NDIS participants, families, and support teams to understand the "why" behind behaviours of concern and build evidence-based, positive strategies that improve quality of life.
This role will service both the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions, so some travel between the two is expected.
You'll have autonomy over your caseload, backed by a collaborative clinical team.
What you'll do
Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop Behaviour Support Plans (including interim and comprehensive plans)
Deliver evidence-based, person-centred interventions in home, school, and community settings
Work collaboratively with participants, families, support workers, and other allied health professionals
Provide training and capacity-building for support networks
Support the reduction/elimination of restrictive practices in line with NDIS Practice Standards
Participate in case discussions and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
Maintain clear,
timely clinical documentation and reporting
What we're looking for
Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or Social Work
Demonstrated experience with evidence-based, person-centred practice
Experience working with people with psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual disability, or complex support needs
Currently holds NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner suitability (Proficient, Advanced or Specialist)
Must hold own ABN
Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders
Current Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and driver's licence (or willingness to obtain)
Current qualified indemnity and public liability insurance
Registration or eligibility for professional membership with an appropriate body (e.g. AASW, AHPRA, ACA) highly regarded
