Finished your studies and looking for an opportunity to
actually build a career in Work Health & Safety?
PMFresh is looking for a motivated
Safety Graduate
to join our People and Culture team at our Homebush site.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your graduate year watching from the sidelines.
You'll be working in a fast-paced food manufacturing workplace, gaining
real, practical safety experience
and working directly with our
National Safety & Environment Manager
, operational leaders and frontline teams.
You'll get exposure to the kind of work that will build the foundations for your future career as a
Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor or Safety Business Partner.
What you'll get exposure to
From day one, you'll learn by getting involved in:
Incident investigations and root cause analysis
Workplace inspections and hazard identification
Risk assessments and Safe Work Procedures
Safety observations and leadership safety walks
Corrective action management
Toolbox talks, inductions and safety training
WHS systems and compliance
Internal and external audits
Regulatory requirements and regulator interactions
Workers compensation and injury management
Environmental compliance and sustainability activities
Working directly with operational leaders and employees to improve safety
Most importantly, you'll learn
how safety actually works in a live manufacturing environment
— not just how it works in a textbook.
Who we're looking for
This opportunity would suit someone who is
early in their safety career
and wants to learn, develop and take on responsibility.
You may be a recent graduate, completing your studies, or someone with a WHS qualification looking for your first real opportunity in the industry.
You'll ideally have:
Certificate IV or higher in Work Health & Safety
A genuine interest in developing a career in WHS
Strong communication and people skills
Confidence engaging with people at different levels
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
A proactive attitude — someone who asks questions, gets involved and wants to learn
Previous safety experience is
desirable, but not essential
.
Experience through university placements, internships, part-time employment or operational/manufacturing environments will all be considered.
HR/IR qualifications, Training and Assessment Cert IV, Return-to-Work Coordinator certification and First Aid qualifications would be advantageous but aren't essential.
Where could this role take you?
We're looking for someone who doesn't simply want their
first safety job
— we're looking for someone who wants to
build a career in safety
.
The role has been designed to develop your capability across operational safety, investigations, risk management, compliance, injury management and safety leadership.
As your capability grows, potential future pathways include:
At PMFresh, you'll have the opportunity to learn in an environment where safety decisions have a real impact on people every day.
If you're ambitious, curious and ready to turn your WHS studies into practical experience,
we'd love to hear from you.
