Mainframe Developer
We are seeking a skilled developer with strong mainframe experience to join a large-scale federal government technology program.
You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to the development, enhancement, support and maintenance of complex enterprise applications.
Eligibility
Australian Citizenship required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
Key Responsibilities
Analyse, design, develop, test and maintain software solutions
Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Develop technical designs and implementation approaches for complex systems
Provide production support, maintenance and go-live assistance
Ensure adherence to software development methodologies and standards
Prepare technical documentation, progress reports and implementation artefacts
Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders
Contribute to release, deployment and configuration activities
Identify risks, issues and opportunities for continuous improvement
Skills & Experience Essential




Strong experience working within a Mainframe environment
Experience with COBOL, Adabas Natural, or similar mainframe technologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience across the full software development lifecycle
Ability to produce clear technical documentation
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience supporting release and deployment activities
Desirable
Experience with M204 / Model 204
Exposure to Java, C#, or other object-oriented development languages
Application support and maintenance experience
Experience in large-scale government or enterprise environments
