About the role
We are seeking an experienced
Machine Operator / Production / Maintenance Manager
to join our manufacturing facility in Welshpool, WA. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our production operations and ensuring the smooth running of our machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for overseeing machine operations, coordinating maintenance activities, and leading a team to achieve production targets whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our operational efficiency and directly contribute to the success of Woodlook Aluminium.
Key responsibilities
Operate and monitor aluminium processing machinery, ensuring all equipment runs efficiently and within specified parameters
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on production equipment to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations
Oversee and coordinate the work of machine operators and maintenance technicians to ensure production schedules are met
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime
Maintain accurate records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and production output
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
Implement preventative maintenance schedules and recommend equipment upgrades or replacements where necessary




Liaise with management to report on production performance, equipment status, and any operational concerns
Provide training and guidance to team members on machinery operation and best practices
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
What we're looking for
Proven experience operating industrial machinery within a manufacturing environment, preferably in aluminium processing or similar sectors
Demonstrated knowledge of machine maintenance principles and preventative maintenance practices
Experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity, with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment issues and implement solutions quickly
Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals
Competence in using basic diagnostic tools and equipment testing devices
Solid attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation and records
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
A valid driver's licence and willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Relevant qualifications or certifications in machinery operation, maintenance, or production management (preferred but not essential)
