An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced clinical quality and governance leader to join a purpose-driven organisation at an important stage of growth, transformation and service development. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Strategic Quality & Clinical Services Manager will provide senior leadership across quality, safeguarding, clinical governance and the development of emerging clinical services. You will strengthen the systems and governance that ensure services are safe, person-centred and continuously improving, while also helping shape the organisation's future clinical capability. This will initially include community clinical nursing, with potential expansion into allied health, behaviour support and broader health-sector partnerships. Working closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, you will bring together strong clinical judgement, contemporary quality and governance expertise and commercial thinking to support both existing services and future growth.
About the Role
Lead the organisation's quality, safeguarding and clinical governance frameworks across disability, youth, community and emerging clinical services.
Lead accreditation and assurance activities, including readiness for HSQF,NSQHF and NDIS Practice Standards.
Strengthen clinical governance, professional practice, credentialing, scope of practice, clinical risk and escalation frameworks.
Provide leadership to the existing quality and nursing team and help shape a future multidisciplinary clinical workforce.
Oversee incident, safeguarding and restrictive practice governance, ensuring organisational learning translates into meaningful improvement.

Support implementation of a new organisational quality system, embedding effective quality, risk, incident, audit and reporting processes.
Work with the CEO and senior leaders to design and develop sustainable clinical service models, considering market need, workforce, pricing, productivity, risk and investment.
Build productive relationships with health services, government, regulators, funders, NDIS stakeholders and community partners.
Provide clear, practical and decision-practical quality, clinical and risk assurance to the CEO, senior leadership and Board.
About You
You will be an experienced clinical, quality or healthcare or allied health leader who understands that good governance and quality should enable great services, not simply create more compliance. You will bring substantial experience across quality management, clinical governance, accreditation and/or healthcare leadership within a complex health, disability, community or human services environment. Importantly, you will be comfortable operating beyond traditional quality assurance. You will be commercially aware, able to assess opportunities and risk, and interested in helping build services and organisational capability.
You will also bring:
A tertiary qualification in Nursing,

Allied Health or another relevant clinical discipline.
Demonstrated experience leading an organisation or service through external accreditation, certification or audit.
Strong knowledge of clinical governance, incident management, safeguarding, clinical risk and professional practice.
Working knowledge of HSQF, NSQHF and/or the NDIS Practice Standards.
Experience establishing, growing or transforming clinical or community health services.
The ability to translate regulation and standards into practical systems and frontline practice.
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to influence across operational, clinical and corporate teams.
A commercial and service-development mindset balanced by strong ethics, safeguarding and clinical governance.
This role is based in Mackay, Queensland.
The successful candidate will be required to live and work in Mackay and maintain a strong, visible presence within the organisation.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to take on a role with genuine organisational influence. You will work closely with an innovative CEO and senior leadership team, strengthen the quality and clinical foundations of an established purpose-driven organisation, and help shape the next stage of its clinical services capability.
For the right person, the attraction is the combination: clinical leadership, quality and governance, organisational improvement and the opportunity to build something for the future.
