Job Description
About the role:
n
Advance Medical Practice is seeking an endorsed Nurse Practitioner to join our practice in Westmead and work closely with our General Practitioners. Hours are flexible. The role suits a Nurse Practitioner with an interest in chronic disease management.
n
This position requires current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Applications from Registered Nurses who are not endorsed as Nurse Practitioners will not be considered.
n
Must be able to complete own medicare billing via provider number.
n

Our patient community is broad and includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. A range of allied health services operate within the practice, including podiatry, physiotherapy, pharmacy, dietetics, Aboriginal health workers and ultrasound.

Key responsibilities:
n
n
Assess, diagnose and manage patients independently within your approved scope of practice.
n
Prescribe medications and order and interpret diagnostic investigations within your scope.
n
Manage chronic disease, including care planning and scheduled reviews.
n
Conduct health assessments and preventive health checks.
n
Refer to specialists and allied health services where appropriate.
n
Maintain accurate patient records using clinical software.
n
Work collaboratively with the General Practitioners, nursing and administrative staff.
n
Participate in continuing professional development and quality improvement activities.
n
n
Requirements:
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with Nurse Practitioner endorsement.
n
Master of Nurse Practitioner or equivalent qualification.
n
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
n
Qualified indemnity insurance.
n
Eligibility to work in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency or an appropriate visa).
n
Commitment to high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
n

Desirable:
n
n
Demonstrated interest and experience in chronic disease management.
n
Experience using Best Practice software.
n
Experience working within a general practice or primary care setting.
n
n
