About The Role
Help keep our community pools safe, staffed and running smoothly this season. Council is seeking two casual Aquatic Facilities Duty Supervisors to share this role during pool operating periods, with one employee working approximately 4-5 days per week and the other working approximately 2-3 days per week. This is a practical, hands-on role focused on rostering, active lifeguarding, staff support, bookings, operational records, water testing, customer service and day-to-day operational decisions.
You Will Be Involved In
Coordinating rosters, shift coverage and timesheet follow-up during the pool season
Working as active lifeguards on the roster, including supervising aquatic activity and supporting safe pool use
Supervising and supporting casual Pool Lifeguards and Pool Attendants during rostered operations
Managing pool bookings, daily log sheets, operational records and records management requirements
Completing water testing during rostered shifts and checking that pool staff complete water testing correctly
Making practical day-to-day decisions about pool opening, closure, staffing escalation, water quality and customer issues
Checking PPE, first aid kits, lifeguard equipment and safety kits, and escalating issues as required
Reporting hazards, defects, maintenance issues and equipment concerns to the appropriate Council officers
About You
We are looking for two reliable and organised people to support the safe day-to-day operation of Council's aquatic facilities during the pool season. These roles would suit people with strong communication skills,



practical judgement and the confidence to support casual pool staff, manage rosters and bookings, complete water testing, and respond to customer and operational issues as they arise.
Essential Criteria
Current Pool Lifeguard qualification, or the ability to obtain and maintain it before commencement
Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, or the ability to obtain and maintain them before commencement
Current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or the ability to obtain and maintain it before commencement
More than 12 months cumulative experience as a Pool Lifeguard
Ability to roster staff, coordinate shift coverage and manage timesheet information accurately
Ability to supervise casual pool staff, provide clear direction and follow up operational requirements
Sound communication and customer service skills, including responding to complaints or customer issues professionally
Moderate computer skills, including the ability to work with rosters, bookings, records and timesheet information
Availability to participate in an on-call phone roster for staff illness and rostering changes during the pool season
Desirable criteria
Previous experience working in an aquatic, recreation, customer service or seasonal operations environment
Experience using booking, rostering, record keeping or payroll systems
Working knowledge of pool water testing procedures, aquatic supervision requirements and public facility operations

The hourly salary rate for these roles will be $******* per hour, inclusive of a 25% casual loading. The casual loading compensates for the lack of certain entitlements that casual employees do not receive, such as paid leave, public holidays, notice of termination and redundancy pay. Pre-employment Requirements
The successful applicants will be subject to a pre-employment medical and a national police check.
The successful applicants will also be required to hold or obtain required aquatic industry qualifications, including Pool Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR, and Working with Vulnerable People registration before commencement.
