Intensive Care Unit - Clinical Assistant

About the role
n
The Clinical Assistant (CA) is a member of the ICU multidisciplinary team who works in a collaborative partnership with the ICU Equipment and Clinical Assistant Manager, the ICU Deputy Equipment Coordinator, the ICU Equipment Technicians and the CA team. Permanent part time hours available working a rotating (AM, PM and night shift) roster commencing October ****.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has 42 physical bed spaces and currently admits over **** patients every year. The RMH ICU provides services to the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre partners, the Peter MacCallum Hospital and the Women's hospital across the Parkville precinct.

Key Accountabilities
n
n
Supports ICU staff by assisting with patient care, repositioning, and transport.
n
Restocks consumables and maintains clean, safe clinical areas and equipment.
n
Cleans, assembles, and safely stores medical devices and instruments.
n
Works collaboratively with nurses, technicians,
and other hospital departments.
n
n
About You
n
You hold a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance and have recent experience working in an acute hospital environment. You also bring:
n

A well-organised approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
n
Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
n
The ability to follow direction while using initiative to prioritise your workload.
n
A commitment to providing safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
n
Flexibility to work a rotating roster across AM, PM and night duty, Monday to Sunday.
