RX Active Health is seeking an experienced Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist to join our growing multidisciplinary health team in Shellharbour.
We are building a genuinely integrated model of care where psychology, physiotherapy, strength training, exercise, Reformer Pilates and recovery services work alongside one another to help people improve their physical and psychological health for the long term.
As the first psychologist within RX Active Health, you will have the opportunity to shape how psychology is integrated into our wider model of care while maintaining genuine clinical autonomy.

OUR CLINICAL FOCUS
Our physiotherapy team has developed particular expertise in:
TMJ and jaw disorders
Complex neck pain and headache
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and hypermobility
Persistent and complex pain
Musculoskeletal injury and rehabilitation
These clients often have needs that extend beyond the purely physical.
Someone with persistent jaw or neck pain may also be navigating anxiety, stress, disrupted sleep, fear or trauma. A client with EDS or hypermobility may be dealing with chronic symptoms, uncertainty around their body or reduced confidence.
Having psychology embedded within the same team allows us to support these clients in a more connected way.
However, this is not a narrow pain psychology role.
You will see a wide variety of clients and presentations, allowing you to build a broad private-practice psychology caseload according to your experience and interests.
Your caseload may include:
Anxiety, stress and depression
Trauma and adjustment
Burnout and life transitions
Relationship and interpersonal concerns
Persistent pain and chronic health conditions
Injury and rehabilitation
Fear of movement or reinjury
Work and lifestyle stress
This gives you genuine clinical variety while creating opportunities to collaborate with physiotherapists and exercise professionals when a client's physical and psychological health intersect.

THE ROLE
As our first psychologist, you will deliver high-quality psychological care while helping us establish strong foundations for the service.
Your role may include:
Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments
Developing individualised, evidence-based treatment plans
Delivering psychological interventions within your scope and areas of competence
Using approaches such as CBT, ACT, behavioural strategies and psychoeducation where appropriate
Supporting clients with anxiety, stress, trauma, persistent pain, chronic conditions and behaviour-change challenges
Addressing psychological barriers to movement, rehabilitation and participation in everyday life
Collaborating with physiotherapists and other health professionals where appropriate and with client consent
Maintaining excellent clinical records and professional standards
Participating in multidisciplinary discussions where beneficial
Contributing ideas to the future development of psychology at RX Active Health
Maintaining ongoing CPD and clinical supervision

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is clinically strong, emotionally mature, professional, collaborative and genuinely invested in excellent client outcomes.
The ideal applicant will have:
At least 5 years' private-practice experience in Australia
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist
Strong assessment and treatment-planning skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence working autonomously
A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing CPD
A solid work ethic and personal accountability
Genuine interest in multidisciplinary care
Interest in contributing to a growing psychology service
Experience with pain, trauma, rehabilitation, health psychology, chronic conditions, EDS/hypermobility, TMJ or complex physical health presentations is highly regarded, but not essential.

REMUNERATION
Highly competitive remuneration — earning potential up to $250,000 FTE.
For employees, remuneration includes a base salary plus commission, providing income stability while rewarding productivity and contribution to the growth of the psychology service.
For psychologists who prefer a contractor arrangement, a straight commission structure is also available.
Remuneration will reflect experience, seniority, registration type, clinical capability, caseload capacity and the level of responsibility undertaken.
