The
Vibroacoustics Group
within the
Centre for Audio, Acoustics and Vibration (CAAV)
, School of Electrical, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, is seeking a highly motivated
Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Vibroacoustics
to join an exciting research program in advanced computational modelling of vibration and acoustic systems.
This is a
full-time, fixed-term appointment for two years
, with an anticipated commencement as soon as possible. Applicants must be an
Australian Citizen
to be eligible for consideration.
The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in computational vibroacoustic by developing advanced numerical models for complex structural and acoustic systems.



The role also offers opportunities to collaborate with leading academic researchers and industry partners on projects with real-world impact.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A PhD (completed or near completion) in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a closely related discipline
Demonstrated expertise in computational modelling of vibration and acoustic systems
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience with numerical methods such as Finite Element Method (FEM), Boundary Element Method (BEM) and Wave-based methods or other advanced computational techniques
Proficiency in one or more of the following: MATLAB, Python, COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, ABAQUS, Equivalent engineering software packages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary research team
Experience in industry-engaged research, externally funded projects, or collaboration with industry partners will be considered an advantage.
Base Salary Range:
$97,955 to $119,303 pa (Level A)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension)
in addition
to the base salary.
This position is full-time and an appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
