Location: Beaudesert
Public Sector People are working with a Regional Council, who are seeking an experienced Development Compliance Officer to join their Regulatory Services Team on a temporary full-time 12-month contract with the potential for extension.
The role will support Council's compliance functions through investigations, enforcement activities, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory service delivery.
Here Are The Details Of The Role
Role Title: Development Compliance Officer
Pay: from $45 per hour + super
Location: Beaudesert
Client: Regional Council
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 12 months (with potential extension)
Position Overview
The successful candidate will work closely with Council officers, government agencies, industry representatives and members of the community to ensure compliance with relevant legislation while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake inspections, investigations and complaint management relating to Council's planning scheme, local laws and relevant State legislation.
Prepare investigation reports, evidence briefs, notices and recommendations regarding enforcement actions.
Initiate and manage enforcement processes, including preparing matters for court proceedings and attending court when required.
Assess and process permits and approvals under the guidance of the Team Leader Development Compliance.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice and updates on compliance matters.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with Council policies and legislative requirements.
The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate
Experience in compliance, enforcement, regulatory investigations, or a related local government environment.
Sound knowledge of local laws, planning schemes, development legislation and regulatory frameworks.
Solid stakeholder engagement and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
A Certificate qualification in local government compliance or relevant compliance/enforcement experience. A tertiary qualification in land use planning will be highly regarded.
A current C Class Driver Licence.
