Senior Analytics Consultant
$137,****** per annum + 12% superannuation
Full time, fixed term chance until 30/3/2027
Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid – 3 days in office)
About the opportunity
The Senior Analytics Consultant role sits in the Recovery Analytics team, within the Performance and Operational Strategy area of the RTWV Business Unit.
This is a key supporting role, reporting to the Principal Consultant. You will work closely with and take guidance from the Principal Consultant and be responsible for delivering the analysis of data from a variety of sources, developing an independent, transparent and understood view of WorkSafe performance, to warn of emerging risks, help to identify opportunities, and develop and evaluate solutions that improve performance, and leading the distillation of subsequent insights into key messages to support the objectives of business stakeholders within Worksafe Victoria.
This role is responsible for the provision of analysis, advice and reporting on performance trends, identifying emerging risk and opportunities relating to treatment, return to work, long tail claims management as well getting involved in projects and initiatives to improve injured worker outcomes. Our objectives include uplifting data literacy, generating insights to ensure WorkSafe has a deep understanding of employer and worker needs, drivers and goals.
Key accountabilities
Taking a leadership role in the development and operation of reporting and other analytics.
Presenting complex analytics and insights in an easy-to-understand manner.
Provide support and advice to other analysts to ensure our reporting outputs meet our agreed standards.
Contribute to analytics projects and initiatives - including responsibility for delivering key components.
Embedding our data visualisation tools and evolving their use within the team.




Ensure that the reporting output meets agreed standards by ensuring appropriate documentation & undertaking peer review.
Contribute to development and provision of analytical services including: Eegular management reporting with continuous improvement focus. Data driven insights and recommendations. Performance measurement and program evaluation. Delivery of analytical projects e.g. development of reports and dashboards. Responses to ad hoc requests for statistical information
Skills and experience
Strong interpersonal skills to support appropriate internal and external networks and relationships.
Ability to lead stakeholder engagement activities to collect, identify and articulate stakeholder requirements
Demonstrated ability to problem solve, undertake effective research and analysis and produce accurate reports
Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to negotiate and meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously with limited guidance when required
Demonstrated ability to support other analysts and quality check their output
Extensive knowledge of key data sources and core systems
Highly proficient in Excel
Programming experience within SAS and/or similar languages (R, Python, SPSS)
A strong knowledge of and experience using data visualisation and reporting tools in day-to-day work (e.g. SAS VA, QlikSense) including experience designing, developing and implementing new initiatives
Advanced statistical,



quantitative and/or financial modelling skills combined with a demonstrated capacity to innovate in developing solutions to business challenges.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification (e.g. Statistics, Business, Computer Science) and relevant experience
