Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in leading a team of tradespeople, coordinating maintenance activities, improving plant reliability and ensuring production targets are supported through effective maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
n
n
Lead, mentor and develop a team of maintenance tradespeople.
n
Assist with recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
n
Coordinate maintenance rosters and labour allocation.
n
Drive a positive culture focused on safety, accountability and teamwork.
n
Support performance management and ongoing employee development.
n
n
Maintenance & Reliability
n
n
Coordinate daily maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
n
Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
n
Respond to breakdowns and drive timely fault resolution.
n
Conduct inspections and ensure equipment reliability.
n
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and plant optimisation.
n
Work closely with production teams to maximise operational performance.
n

Safety & Compliance
n
n
Champion a strong safety culture across the maintenance function.
n




Ensure compliance with WHS policies and site procedures.
n
Participate in risk assessments, investigations and corrective actions.
n
Monitor contractor compliance and safe work practices.
n
n
About You To be successful, you'll bring:
n
n
Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams within manufacturing environments.
n
Mechanical Fitter or Electrical trade qualification.
n
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
n
Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling and workforce coordination.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead from the front.
n
Experience within food manufacturing, meat processing or FMCG environments will be highly regarded.
n
Flexibility to support a 24/7 production operation when required.
n
