What You'll Be Doing
As the Nurse Unit Manager, Neurology, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of secure, effective and high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for coordinating clinical services, managing resources, supporting staff development and maintaining efficient ward operations in a busy specialty environment.
Lead, direct and coordinate patient care within the Neurology unit
Manage nursing staff, workforce planning, patient flow and resource allocation
Ensure safe, evidence-based nursing practice and high standards of clinical care
Foster a positive team culture through mentoring, coaching and professional development
Drive quality improvement, innovation and efficient ward management within budget

Essential Criteria
Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1)
Selection Criteria
Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or specialty, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive management experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role.
Recent relevant clinical and management experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD
Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation.
Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care
Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughput and resource utilisation.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated conflict resolution experience.
