This is more than a traditional Senior Accountant opportunity. For the right person, there is a genuine longer-term pathway to ownership, making this particularly suited to someone looking for a firm they can grow with and potentially have a stake in over time.
Working directly with the Directors, you'll manage a diverse portfolio across taxation, accounting and business advisory, build strong client relationships and have the autonomy to manage your work from commencement through to completion.
The role
As Senior Accountant, you'll manage client work from commencement through to completion, building strong relationships and providing practical advice tailored to each client's circumstances.
Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and reviewing income tax returns, BAS and other taxation and statutory lodgements
Providing practical taxation and tax planning advice
Supporting clients with business structuring, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
Managing client work, priorities and deadlines
Building trusted client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
Identifying opportunities to provide broader taxation, accounting and advisory support
Working collaboratively with the Directors and wider team
About you
You'll be an experienced public practice accountant who is technically capable,
comfortable taking ownership of client work and enjoys developing strong relationships with the people and businesses you support.
You'll bring:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
A minimum of four years' relevant experience within Australian public practice accounting
Experience preparing financial statements and taxation compliance work across a range of entity types
Strong working knowledge of Australian taxation and relevant regulatory requirements
Confidence managing multiple client engagements, priorities and deadlines
Strong communication and client relationship skills
Proficiency with Xero or similar accounting software
CA or CPA designation, or progress toward achieving it, will be highly regarded, as will experience providing business advisory services.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is a chance to join a growing regional practice where you can have meaningful involvement with clients and the broader business. For the right person, that involvement also comes with genuine longer-term potential, with the opportunity for your career to extend beyond Senior Accountant and into ownership of the business over time.
You can expect:
$95,000 – $110,000 + super, depending on experience and capability
Commission-based earning opportunities
Direct access to and the opportunity to work closely with the Directors
Exposure to a diverse client base across a range of industries
A genuine mix of taxation, accounting and business advisory work
