Operate, manage, maintain, and repair critical and non-critical power systems, HVAC, BMS, plumbing, fire control and suppression, and site services
Perform regularly scheduled maintenance and ad hoc repairs/troubleshooting
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance protocols, plans, activities, and site checks
Manage and oversee specialist vendors for major works, planned repairs and maintenance, electrical, and special systems
Maintain spare parts availability and critical spares register
Monitor and respond to BMS alarms, escalating to Controls Engineering when required
Participate in an on-call roster as first responder for site incidents outside regular working hours
Oversee plumbing, security, and fire suppression vendor activities
Coordinate vendor work to ensure maintenance meets Equinix requirements
Perform commissioning and project work of varying scale and scope
Edit and track service-provider work approval processes
Recommend updates to technical files and ensure as-built documentation is current
Create engineering scripts and undertake secure switching practice
Ensure Equinix safety and maintenance quality procedures are followed, including Incident Management
Review processes, procedures, and systems; communicate deviations and proposed changes
Develop and support training for IBX employees
Provide guidance and mentoring to team members
Requirements
Understanding through practical experience of critical facility operations and equipment
Trade qualification or Degree Certified
Sound knowledge or understanding of Controls would be a bonus




Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive situations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
Capability to execute tasks through effort and collaboration without formal written process
Collaborative mindset and ability to complete assigned tasks autonomously when required
