Role Description
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Rehabilitation Counsellor
to join our Occupational Rehabilitation team in Canberra.
This role will have a particular focus on managing
complex psychological cases within the Comcare scheme
, so we are looking for someone who already has strong occupational rehabilitation and Comcare experience and is confident navigating complex cases and stakeholder environments.
The role will include:
Managing complex psychological rehabilitation and return-to-work cases
Conducting vocational assessments and vocational counselling
Developing evidence-based rehabilitation and return-to-work strategies
Working closely with employees, employers, treating practitioners and other stakeholders
Facilitating case conferences and stakeholder meetings
Providing strategic recommendations to address barriers to recovery and return to work
Preparing clear, concise and outcome-focused rehabilitation reports




Supporting sustainable same-employer and recent-employer return-to-work outcomes
Contributing to the broader growth and quality of ELEV8's Occupational Rehabilitation services
For someone with the right experience, there may also be opportunities to work across our
Life Insurance and Income Protection
portfolio.
This is a
Canberra-based hybrid role
, with flexibility across workplace visits, our Canberra office and working from home.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
A tertiary qualification in
Rehabilitation Counselling
Current ASORC accreditation
A minimum of 3 years' Occupational Rehabilitation experience
Demonstrated Comcare experience
Strong experience managing complex psychological injury cases
Experience in vocational assessment, counselling and return-to-work planning
Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with employers, insurers, treating practitioners and government stakeholders
High-quality report writing and clinical reasoning skills
The ability to manage your caseload autonomously while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Highly regarded:
12+ months' experience working within
Life Insurance / Income Protection rehabilitation
