Alpine Resorts Victoria (ARV) is seeking a
Resort Environmental Senior Officer
to help deliver environmental and sustainability initiatives across Mt Buller and Mt Stirling. This year-round role offers a unique combination of
field-based environmental management, data analysis, reporting, and community education
, all while working in Victoria's stunning alpine region.
Working closely with the Environmental Manager and Mt Stirling Operations team, you'll help protect and enhance the alpine landscape through environmental monitoring, conservation programs, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
What you'll be doing
Threatened species management
Flora and fauna monitoring
Pest animal and weed control
Waste reduction and circular economy initiatives
Collect, analyse and report on environmental performance data, including:
Energy, water and waste
Emissions and offsets
Compliance and sustainability metrics
Support environmental planning and compliance by:
Reviewing Site Environmental Management Plans
Monitoring permits, certifications and regulatory obligations
Providing environmental advice and recommendations
Coordinate environmental education programs that promote sustainability and environmental awareness across the resort.
Support broader resort operations when required, including working alongside the Mt Stirling Operations, Assets & Operations, and Ski Patrol teams.
About you




We're looking for someone who is passionate about environmental management and enjoys balancing fieldwork with technical analysis.
You'll bring:
At least 2 years' experience delivering environmental programs
Experience in flora and fauna management, native vegetation offsets and/or circular economy initiatives
GIS and spatial data management experience
Solid analytical and environmental reporting skills
Confidence working outdoors in alpine conditions
An Agricultural Chemical User's Permit with **** endorsement, or willingness to obtain one
Qualification in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field
Knowledge of environmental regulations relevant to alpine environments
Capable skier/snowboarder and ASPA qualification
