About The Role
As a Senior Financial Advisor, you will provide high-level financial and business advisory services to support executive decision-making and the achievement of divisional objectives. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including Executive Directors and Directors across our Schools and Corporate divisions, you will deliver strategic financial advice, insights and recommendations that support effective resource management and financial performance.
In this role, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, labour analytics and management reporting activities, while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and enhance service delivery. You will transform complex financial data into meaningful insights, develop executive-level reports and presentations, and partner with stakeholders to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the business.
You will contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on delivering high quality services and outcomes for the department.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring
Experience providing financial advisory, business partnering, management accounting or financial analysis services in a complex environment.
Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex financial and business data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence decision‐making at all levels.
Experience preparing high-quality reports, presentations, dashboards and briefing materials for executive audiences.
A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, service delivery and business outcomes.
Strong organisational and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast‐paced environment.
Key Knowledge And Experience
Extensive experience leading change and improving financial processes and systems for efficient and effective operations.

and experience working with finance systems (the Department uses SAP) for the purposes of creating insights and recommendations
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential Requirements Of The Role
Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as finance, accounting or business or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
